How to Cook Maling with PhilCraft Pan? | Canned Pork Luncheon Meat

Time to teach you some cooking. On this post, I am going to teach you how to cook a "Maling", the most popular brand of canned pork luncheon meat in the Philippines.

What makes my cooking style different from the traditional method of cooking luncheon meat comes from the cooking pan that I use. This special cooking pan that I am talking about is called, "PhilCraft". Its specialty is that, you actually don't need to apply any cooking oil. Simply place the food that you would like to cook, cover it tightly and within just few minutes, your food is cooked and ready.

Now, here are the following steps on how to cook Maling:

1. Prepare the Maling

In the Philippines, you can buy canned luncheon meat at any stores around but there are several brands that you can choose from. I actually prefer the Maling brand because it's the most popular brand and its already been there since I was still a little kid.

Okay, the first step is to prepare it on your table. But first, you may want to wipe it off with a clean piece of cloth especially if the can is dusty or dirty.

2. Can Opener

I suggest using a Can-Opener to open up the top portion of the canned meat. It's a lot easier and less dangerous as compared to using a knife.

3. Place the Meat on a Plate

Once opened, simply flip the can over the plate. If the meat does not go off, knock the bottom part of the can.

4. Slice the Meat

Slice the meat on your preferred thickness. I do mine at about 1 centimeter thick.

5. Put the Sliced Meat into the PhilCraft Pan

Take the sliced meat and place them on the Philcraft pan. You have to arrange them just like on the image shown below.

Close the lid of your PhilCraft pan and start cooking those meat. You have to control the fire of the stove to the minimal level. And for about 10 minutes, flip the PhilCraft pan to its other side or open it up and manually flip the meat inside. Then, wait for another 10 minutes and it's all done.
