Palawan Express Pera Padala Transaction Rates

Among all the companies in the Philippines that are offering money transfer services, you may be surprised to know that Palawan Express has the best offer when it comes to the cheapest and affordable rates.

Despite of the company’s name Palawan, their services isn’t actually just catered for that particular region of the country. They have thousands of scattered branches across nationwide. They even made partnership with other similar companies which are the Palawan Pawnshop, Tambunting, LBC, Robinsons, and SM Malls.

Through Palawan Express’ partnership with other big companies, this ensures that you can easily have access to their service of sending or receiving your money anywhere you are.

Listed below are the Palawan Express Pera Padala transaction rates. The rates are divided into two major groups. First group is the Metro Manila and North Luzon. Second group are Visayas to Mindanao, South Luzon, Masbate, Romblon, and Palawan.

All denominations are in terms of Philippine peso currency.

First Group: Metro Manila and North Luzon

Second Group: Visayas to Mindanao, South Luzon, Masbate, Romblon, and Palawan

As you can see on the transaction rate table above, the minimum amount that you can send through Palawan Express starts from 1 to 100 pesos while the maximum amount is 50,000 pesos.

Comparing the two groups, you will notice that the second group has cheaper transaction rates.

Steps on Sending Money through Palawan Express

Step 1: Go to the nearest Palawan Express outlet from your location. If you do not have any idea then you can use Google Maps to help you out.

Step 2: Ask the agent to give you the Send Money Form. But in most cases, the form is readily available at the counter where you can just grab one for yourself. Just make sure that it is the Send Money Form and not the Receive Money Form.

Step 3: Fill-up your Send Money Form where you will be providing your name, the receiver’s name, and your Mobile number.

Step 4: After filling-up the Send Money Form with all the required details, hand it over to the agent. Along with the form, you also need to provide at least one valid ID.

You can check out my post about all acceptable valid IDs in the Philippines.

Step 5: When the agent have finished checking all the details that you provided, pay the overall required amount that is needed. These are the amount of money that you are going to send and its corresponding transaction fee.

Step 6: Finalize your transaction by double checking all the details before you sign the copy of the form.

Step 7: The agent will ask you to wait for a few seconds for them to process your transaction and print a copy of your receipt. Your receipt includes the code which you need to pass to your receiver to claim the money that you just sent.

Aside from the receipt, you will also receive an SMS notification informing you that your remittance is ready to be claimed to any Palawan Express branches in the Philippines.

Steps on Receiving Money through Palawan Express

Step 1: Visit the nearest available Palawan Express outlet in your area.

Step 2: Fill out the Receive Money Form with all the necessary details which includes the sender’s name and the secret code.

Step 3: Submit the form to the agent along with any of your valid ID.

Step 4: At this point, the agent may ask you to wait for a few seconds for them to process your transaction.

Step 5: You will be called by the agent to release your money and at the same time, you need to sign the receipt that you have successfully received your money. And of course, you will be given a copy of the receipt.

Moreover, you have to know that remittance sent through Palawan Express can be claimed within a period of 30 days without charges or fees. If you intend to claim your money over a period of 30 days then it is subjected to 30 pesos or 1 percent charge of the principal amount on a monthly basis. But if your money is unclaimed for 1 year, then you might end up losing all of it.

LBC Pera Padala Rates and Charges

If you want to send money to someone in the Philippines then you may want to consider using LBC as a money transfer. The reason is that, the company has been operating for many years now in the country and they have proven their trust and reliability.

Many Filipinos are already using LBC to send and receive money. Parents do often use LBC to send money to their children particularly their children who are already at their college levels and studying far away from their home.

However, LBC is not the only money transfer company that is operating in the Philippines. There are now many other companies that emerged offering the same type of services to the Filipino people. To name a few, we have Western Union, M Lhuillier, Cebuana, Palawan Express, and etc…

All money transfers in the Philippines seem to provide an excellent quality of their services. The only difference is their transaction rates and charges. Thus, before using any of the money transfer services, it is advisable to make comparison to their transaction fees.

You have to know that there are money transfer services that offers cheaper amount of rates than others. It all actually depends on your location. So it is all up to you to make the necessary comparison.

Other money transfer companies and their rates are covered on separate posts. This post only covers LBC Pera Padala rates and charges which are listed below:

As you can see on the table above, the minimum amount that you can send is worth 100 pesos while the maximum amount is 5,000 pesos. Thus, if the amount of money that you are planning to send is way above 5,000 pesos then you may want to consider using other money transfer services that allows such amount.

The common term for money transfer services in the Philippines is called “cash-to-cash” pick up. But when it comes to LBC, they much prefer to call their money transfer service as “Instant Peso Padala” due to the reason that they offer real-time money remittance.

So if you used LBC to send money to your beloved family, they can immediately receive or claim the money from their respective nearest LBC branch office. Currently, there are now more than 2,000 LBC branch offices that are operating nationwide (Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao).

Take note: Before the receiver can claim or receive the money, the sender must provide the receiver the tracking number which will be asked by the agent or required to be filled on the receiver’s form. The tracking number can be found at the sender’s receipt.

Aside from the tracking number, the agent will also ask for a valid ID to verify the identity of the receiver. You can check my post that covered the list of acceptable valid IDs in the Philippines.

Moreover, LBC’s transaction rates or charges covered on this post may change without notice. Anyway, if I become aware about such changes then I will make the necessary updates.

M Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Rates and Charges

Recently, a payment processor in the Philippines called “M Lhuillier” has been gaining some popularity. They even have several entertaining commercials being shown on the TV.

The services offered by M Lhuillier include money transfer, bills payment, pawnshops, and cash loans. But among those services, they are more commonly used for their remittance service. Thus, they branded the company as “ML Kwarta Padala”.

What’s really interesting about ML Kwarta Padala is that, they offer their service at a very affordable and effortless means of being able to send or receive money transfers.

As of today, the company has already deployed over 2,000 of their branches nationwide. And interestingly, 100 of these branches are operating at a time period of 24/7. This is to prove their dedication to their services allows you to pick-up your cash at any given period of time.

If you think that M Lhuillier only operates in the Philippines then you are wrong. This company is actually starting to grow for a much larger audience where they now have partners operating on different parts of the world. Thus, Filipinos abroad can take advantage of their money transfer service to send money back home to their beloved families and friends.

ML Kwarta Padala Rates

ML Lhuillier will gain profit out from the rates or charges of the money that you will be sending. The rate or charge is dependent on the amount of money to be sent. This means, the higher amount of money that you will be sending will incur a higher amount of transaction fee.

Anyway, listed below are the transfer rates or charges according to the range of amount that is to be sent:

After sending the amount of money, you will be given a tracking number or the KPTN. This is an important piece of information in which you need to provide to the person who is going to receive the cash that you sent. And also, don’t forget to inform the receiver to bring his or her valid ID.

Speaking about the valid ID, you may want to refer to my post about the list of acceptable Valid IDs in the Philippines.

If it happens that something went wrong on your transactions, M Lhuillier has their own toll free hotline number which is 1-800-105-723-252 which you can call anytime.

Moreover, you may also want to check Western Union Pera Padala and compare their rates or charges. Then, choose which one of the two services is more affordable for you to use.

Western Union Pera Padala Rates for Domestic and Overseas

Today, there are now many available payment options in the Philippines and Western Union is just one among them. This company has been operating for many years now where they built their trust and reliability of service to their countless number of customers not only in the Philippines but all over the world.

Other top similar companies in the Philippines that are competing for the same type of service include LBC, Palawan Express, Cebuana, and etc…

When it comes to their service, all payment options companies are really serving their customer pretty well with great satisfaction. This is the reason why competition among companies is good.

The only difference between all payment options is actually their rates. Some will have higher rates while others have lower rates. Thus, it would take some research if you want to take advantage of the company that offers the lowest amount of rate.

Rate actually depends on the amount of money that you are going to send and the location or destination as to where it is going to be received. When sending out to another country, you have to expect that you will be paying a higher amount of rate as compared to local.

On this post, we are only going to cover Western Union Pera Padala rates. Those other companies are covered on separate posts.

Aside from Western Union’s secure and reliable service, they actually have over 10,000 branches scattered on different places across the country. This means that there is a huge chance that one of these branches is near your place.

Procedures of Sending Money via Western Union

Step 1: There are two types of form which is the “Send Form” and the “Receive Form”. Thus, make sure that you take the Send Form and fill it up with the necessary information.

If you are trying to send money into your bank then you have to include your receiver’s bank name and your bank account number.

Step 2: You may have to wait in-line and submit your form to the agent. Along with the form, you also need to give the money that you are going to send and a valid ID.

Step 3: The agent will ask for the transfer fee which is the cost for their service. At this point, the agent may ask you to wait for a few seconds. Then when they are done, you will be called back by the agent to give you your receipt.

Your receipt contains important information which is the Money Transfer Control Number or MTCN. Thus, do not disclose it to anyone except for the person whom you want to receive the money.

Step 4: Contact the person who is going to receive the money that you just sent, and then provide the necessary information. These are the MTCN and the exact amount of money that it is going to be received.

Procedures of Receiving Money via Western Union

Step 1: Assuming that you are the receiver, it is important that you need to know your sender’s details. It’s because on the Receive Form, you need to fill-in your sender’s name, the amount sent, and the MTCN number.

Step 2: Accomplish the Receive Form by putting all the necessary information mentioned on the first step. Then submit it to the agent for verification. The agent will also ask for your valid ID to confirm your identity as the right person who will receive the money.

Step 3: When the agent finally verified the details that you provided so as your identity, the money will now be released and given to you. Before you leave, don’t forget your receipt.

Moreover, apart from the rates or transaction fees, Western Union can also make some money out from their currency exchange rate. This only applies for sending or receiving foreign currencies.

For example, you will be receiving a certain amount of money in the form of US dollar currency. Before the money is handed to you, the agent will always ask for your permission if you would like to exchange it to Philippine peso. The decision is all up to you.

Take note: Western Union’s transaction fees and rates discussed on this post are subjected to change without notice.

Philippine SSS Branch Office at Ontario Toronto Canada

When Canada has decided to open their country for Filipinos to work and migrate, many have applied and they are now enjoying themselves being on that country. Up until today, Canada remains open for interested Filipino workers and immigrants. The only difference now is that, it is now a lot harder to apply and get accepted.

Anyway, if you are a Filipino who is currently residing in Canada and you want to become a member of the SSS (Social Security System) program then this has been made possible.

And also, Filipinos in Canada who are already a member of the SSS program but they have issues with their accounts, they can now settle it without the need of going back home in the Philippines.

Unfortunately, there is only one SSS office branch in Canada for such a large country with many Filipinos. So in my own personal opinion, they might be adding more additional branches on different places sometime in the future.

Anyway, if you are planning on visiting the SSS branch office above then it is highly advisable that you make all the necessary preparations. You can list down all the queries and issues that you have or prepare your documents if it is something related to your account.

With proper preparations, this can make your transactions a lot faster to be processed and accomplished.

If it happens that your location is far from the SSS branch office then it best suggested that you should contact them through their telephone number or email address. Then, you can ask everything you need to know particularly the documents that you need to bring like your CRN or SSS number before paying a visit to their office.

With such high number of Filipinos in Canada today, SSS is now conducting their outreach program. They actually go around Canada paying a visit on different places where they can find a certain group of Filipinos.

Some of the common places that are often visited by SSS include Winnipeg, Windsor, Vancouver, Richmond, Edmonton, and many other states of Canada.

Moreover, if you are an active member of the SSS program, the advancement of our technology today now allows you to check the status update of your SSS account through the internet. You just have to enroll or register for your SSS online account.

SSS Monthly Contributions Payment Schedule and Deadline

As an SSS member which you can be an employee, self-employed, OFW, or voluntary – it is very important for you to be aware about the schedule and deadlines of your monthly contributions. You have to know that there is a penalty for a missed payment that you incur. Surely, you do not want that to happen.

Covered on this post is the exact due date or deadline of your SSS (Social Security System) premium on a monthly basis. You can save an offline copy of the schedule or you can bookmark it on your browser for easier reference in the future.

Regular and Household Employers

Take a close look into your ER/HR number. It should contain a total of 13 digits. Now, pay attention to the 10th digit only and refer to the details below:

If your 10th digit ends in 1 or 2, your payment deadline will be on the 10th day of the month.

If your 10th digit has an ending of 3 or 4, it’s on the 15th day of the month is your payment deadline.

A 10th digit that ends in 5 or 6 will have a payment deadline on the 20th day of the month.

A 10th digit with an ending of 7 or 8 number has a scheduled deadline on the 25th day of the month.

Having a 10th digit with a number of 9 or 0 entitles you a payment deadline at the last day of the month.

All payment deadlines on this category must follow the applicable months.

Self-Employed and Voluntary Members

The scheduled payment deadlines for self-employed and voluntary members are exactly the same as the above (regular and household employers). But, the only difference is that the payment deadlines must follow the applicable month or quarter.

OFW Members

If you are an OFW member then you can pay your contributions on the months of January to December of a given year. Contributions for the months of October and December can be paid on the next succeeding year which must be on or before the 31st of January.

SSS Payment Schedule Updates

At some point, there can be changes on the payment schedule and deadlines for member’s monthly contribution.

Below are the most recent updates or revised contribution deadlines:

June 2019

The 10th digit of your SSS number/Employer/HR will now be the basis of your payment deadline.

All regular employers must settle their payment at the end of the month following the applicable month. Contributions for the month of February can be paid until the March 31.

As for the household employers, they must settle their payment at the end of the month following the applicable month or quarter, as the case may be. Contributions on the month of May can be paid until the 31st of July.

While for the self-employed, voluntary, and non-working spouse (SE/VM/NWS) members with contributions on the months of January to June 2019 may settle their payment until the 31st of July 2019.

Paying your contributions on time can get you qualified for SSS benefits.

But, if you do not have an access to the internet, another alternative is to get your SSS Status update via text or SMS.

Required Qualifications for SSS Salary Loan

You will actually going to lose your time applying for an SSS salary loan only to find out that you are not qualified. Thus, before applying for SSS salary loan, the most important first step that you need to do is to know if you have the qualifications which are covered on this post.

If you have successfully meet all the necessary qualifications then you will surely be able to benefit from your 1 month or 2 months cash loan.

Applicants for SSS salary loan are members who are employed, self-employed, and voluntary members. They can be currently paying for their contributions. But, they must have at least a contribution of 6 posted months for the last 12 months period.

One-Month Salary Loan

A member who wants to borrow a loan for one month must have at least a total of 36 posted monthly contributions before he or she can file for application. Other than that, the six posted months of the member’s contributions must fall within the last twelve months.

Two-Month Salary Loan

In order for a member to borrow a two month salary loan, he or she must have at least a total of 72 posted monthly contributions before being allowed to file for application. And just like the one-month salary loan above, the borrower must have paid six monthly posted contributions within the last twelve months.

Other Requirements:

1. An employed SSS member-borrower will have their employer get updated about his or her contributions and load remittances.
2. As a member-borrower, he or she must be updated at the current payment of other member loans. These includes educational, stock investment, MADE and housing loans (under UHLP or direct from SSS).
3. Applicant must be under the age of 65 years old.
4. He or she must not have been granted with final benefit. This means that the member-borrower must not have existing benefit due to permanent disability, retirement, and death.
5. A member-borrower must not have bad records against SSS such as committing fraud.

Amount that a Member-Borrower Can Loan

Member-borrower who opted for one-month salary loan will receive a loan that is equivalent to his or her average posted 12 Monthly Salary Credits (MSCs). Or, the amount that he or she would like to loan. Between the two, the lower amount is what’s going to be granted.

Member-borrower who opted for two-month salary loan can ask for an amount that is twice the average of his or her latest posted 12 MSCs. This amount is rounded to the next higher monthly salary credit. Or, the amount that he or she applied for. Whichever is the lower amount is what’s going to be granted.

When it comes to the net amount of the loan, this is the difference between the approved loan amounts and the addition of all outstanding balance of members with short-term loans.

Paying the Borrowed Loan

The loan must be paid by the member-borrower within a period of two years in the form of 24 monthly installments. Monthly amortization will start by the second month period of the loan date but the deadline must be on or before the scheduled payment.

SSS payment schedule and deadline for monthly schedule is covered on another separate post.

Note: When paying your loan, make sure that you are paying it to an authorized SSS branch with tellering facility. Other alternative payment options can be made through any SSS-accredited banks as well as many other SSS-authorized payment centers.

Loan Interest and Penalty

The loan that you borrowed will incur an interest rate of 10 percent per annum from your diminishing principal balance. And, you must be able to amortize it for a period of 24 months. This 10 percent interests will continuously being charged on your outstanding principal balance until full payment is achieved.

When it happens that there is an excess amount on your amortization payment, the amount will be added into your outstanding principal balance.

Penalty will only occur when you failed to remit your loan on its scheduled due date period. The penalty is that you will be charged with 1 percent for each month until you pay the required payment of your loan.

Service Fee and Loan Renewal

Service fee is an amount which is charged and deducted from the proceeds of the loan that you borrowed. The fee is 1 percent which goes to the SSS employees.

As for the loan renewal, you will only be allowed to renew your loan if you meet the requirement of being able to pay at least 50 percent of your original principal amount. And also, at least 50 percent of this term must have lapsed.

The proceeds of renewal loan with regards to the amount must be greater than or equal to zero. And, the previous outstanding balance of your loan has already been deducted.

Moreover, if you are not sure about your status if you can be qualified for an SSS Salary loan or not then it is best for you to contact SSS hotline or visit their nearest branch.

Pag IBIG Fund Contribution Table

If you are a voluntary or self-employed member of Pag-IBIG Fund then it is expected that you are already aware about the amount you are paying for your contributions. But for the employed individuals, they most likely do not have any idea about it. It’s because their employer does all the process of deducting the amount from their salary and processing it for their contributions.

Most employees do not really care about how much is being deducted from their payroll system. All that matters to them is the total amount that is handed to them. Are you one of them?

Anyway, since your contribution is a part of your hard earned money, you will receive the full benefits offered by the Pag-IBIG Fund programs particularly by the time that you retire. One major benefits of the Pag-IBIG Fund program is that you can avail housing loan. And the best part, it helps you generate savings for your own future.

So if you are an employee working on a certain company and it just happens that you are curious to know how much is being taken from your monthly payroll.

Then, check out the contribution table below:

Monthly Compensation of 1500 pesos and below
Employee Share: 1 Percent
Employer Share: 2 Percent

Monthly Compensation of Over 1500 pesos
Employee Share: 2 Percent
Employer Share: 2 Percent

The maximum amount of monthly compensation is 5000 pesos. So if you are at this level of amount then it means that the maximum amount of contribution for a member is worth 100 pesos. While for employers share, is also 100 pesos.

Thus, earning 5000 pesos or higher amount gives you a fixed amount of 100 pesos and another 100 pesos from your employer. This is your total monthly contribution for your Pag-IBIG Fund.

The contribution table above is not only for the employed individuals but also applicable for the voluntary, self-employed, and OFW members.

Moreover, for those Pag-IBIG Fund members who are voluntary, self-employed, or OFW, you may want to check my other related post about Pag-IBIG Fund’s payment and due date schedules. This is quite important as you do not want to miss any of your contributions or you will get penalize.

Other than the payment schedule, you may also find it useful reading my post about paying your Pag-IBIG Fund contributions via GCash. It is one of the fastest and easiest methods of paying your monthly contributions with no hassle at all.

Pag-IBIG fund is also known as “The Home Development Mutual Fund” (HDMF). It is a government-owned agency which is under the management of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.

The benefit for being a member of the Pag-IBIG fund is that, your contributions will become a part of the national savings program. It also entitles you to ask for short-term loans and the eligibility to access all affordable housing programs.

What if you are not employed or working on a company?

If you do not work to a certain company and you would like to become a member of the Pag-IBIG fund then, you should be happy to know that they are accepting voluntary and self-employed members. As a member on this category, you will receive the same exact benefits as that of the employed.

Payment Schedule and Due Dates

If you are the employer of the company, voluntary or self-employed member of the Pag-IBIG fund, then it is important for you to be aware about the payment schedule and due dates of your contributions.

Here are the following Pag-IBIG payment schedules which are organized according to the first letter of the employer or business:

All first letters starting from A to D
- 10th to the 14th day of the month

All first letters starting from E to L
- 15th to the 19th day of the month

All first letters starting from M to Q
- 20th to the 24th day of the month

All members with first letter starting from R to Z and numbers from 0 to 9
- 25th to end of the month

Below are the payment schedules for members who are voluntary, self-employed, and OFWs:

Monthly Payment: On or before the 10th day of the month

Quarterly: On or before the 10th day of the month in quarter

Moreover, Pag-IBIG fund is quite strict when it comes to the contributions of their members particularly when they don’t pay on-time where they will receive a penalty. Thus, in order not to get penalized, always take note of those schedules. And if possible, paying your contributions at the earliest scheduled date would be the best practice.

The good thing about paying your Pag-IBIG fund today is that, it is no longer a hassle as compared to the old days. It’s because there are now many trusted and reliable payment centers that can do it for you. One of my favorite is the mobile payment processor, GCash. Aside from GCash, you can also use Bayad Center, SM, and etc…

How about the required amount to pay for contribution as a member?

This is another topic covered on a separate post. The same goes on the guide about using GCash to pay your contribution.

Acquiring Cedula at Baguio City Hall

As a Baguio City resident, I will tell you the procedure that I had undergone when I went to acquire a "Cedula" (Community Tax Receipts) at the City Hall. This is a simple government tax receipt that is required by some establishments to prove that you are paying your taxes. It can also be used as an alternative verification aside from your IDs.
