Where Are Giant Anacondas Can Be Found Around The World?

Anacondas have gained their reptilian fame due to their massive size. With a lot of curios individuals about the existence of this kind of snakes, they do often ask the question "Where are the giant anacondas can be found around the world?"

Giant anacondas can actually be found on different parts of the world but basing it from professional explorers, they had concluded that the part of the world where you can find these giant reptiles is in the "Amazon Rainforest of South America". This region is highly dense with tropical forest that covers about 5,117,258.95 square miles of the region.

Here are some of the scientific classification of a giant anaconda:

Kingdom - Animalia
Phylum - Chordata
Subphylum - Vertebrata
Class - Reptilia
Order - Squamata
Suborder - Serpentes
Family - Boidae
Subfamily - Boinae
Genus - Eunectes

Green Anaconda Vs Python

Pythons are also another kind of giant snakes. According to some researchers, a python can grow a size measuring 33 feet long or 10.05 meters. While a standard anaconda can grow only at a size of 20 feet long or 6.09 meters. Thus, pythons exceed the size of an average anaconda in terms of length. However, this is not the bases on measuring on which among them will reign supreme when they are going to fight one another.

Regardless of the shorter length of an anaconda from that of a python, an anaconda is more massive in terms of body size. Thus, it has much bigger muscles to constrict its prey. A python won't surely stand any chance against an anaconda due to this matter.

But, did you know that there is a special kind of an anaconda that both exceed the length of a python and the size of an average anaconda?

These giant reptiles snake are the "Green Anacondas". They are the largest reptile here on Earth that can grow up to 30 feet in length or 9.1 meters.

Habitat

Giant anacondas are reptiles that prefers to live on swamps the reason why the Amazon Rainforest of South America serves them as the perfect habitat. They spent most of their time in the rivers specifically submerge underwater waiting for their prey. It's for this reason why anacondas are good swimmers that they can hold their breath for a duration of around 15 minutes period.

Female anacondas are far much larger than the males. They are actually 3 to 4 times larger in size. When they produce their offspring, the average babies that they often have ranges between 20 to 40. These baby snakes upon taken out from the womb of their mother do have average sizes of around 24 inches or 0.6 meters long.

The most interesting fact about the relationship of the mother and its offspring is that it will only last for an hour. From that point, the babies had to leave on their own.

All anacondas does not possess any kind of venom. They are constrictors wherein they rely on their strength to strangle their prey to death. Once crushed, an anaconda can swallow its prey even when by the looks of it, it's not possible for the snake to swallow its prey. Another interesting fact about an anaconda is its slow digestion process. With this, one huge sized consumed food is already good enough for its survival for one whole year.

Lastly, anacondas have a life span than ranges between 10 to 12 years of age. However, there are some rare cases that they can reach more than 20 years of age for some unknown reason.
